Dr. Rhodo Nguyen is a licensed Naturopathic Physician and graduate of Bastyr University, the leading accredited university of natural and science-based medicine. A native of Seattle, she received her undergraduate degree in Zoology from the University of Washington. She has been practicing Naturopathic Medicine in Washington, DC since 2004.

Dr. Nguyen’s philosophy on health and illness comes from the first principle of naturopathic medicine, Vis Medicatrix Naturae – the healing power of nature. In essence, the body has an innate ability to establish, maintain, and restore health. She believes that a person’s susceptibility towards illness stems from a combination of genetic predisposition, environmental toxicant exposure, allergens, and dietary and lifestyle influences. Dr. Nguyen uses both conventional testing and functional laboratory testing to investigate the underlying cause of a person’s illness. Her “toolbox” for treatment includes botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, homeopathy and diet and lifestyle counseling.  Dr. Nguyen sees both children and adults and offers a holistic, personalized plan to guide her patients toward optimal wellness in all aspects of health: physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual states of being. Through Dr. Nguyen’s gentle approach and education, patients are empowered and motivated to take control of their health and well-being.  Dr. Nguyen is also a certified FirstLine Therapy practitioner.

Outside of the office, Dr. Nguyen enjoys meditation, running, painting, cooking, good friends and community service. She is currently Board President of SENHOA, a non-profit organization working to empower women and children that are at-risk for human-trafficking and sexual exploitation in Cambodia. She is past-president of the District of Columbia Association of Naturopathic Physicians and a current member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
